NECK PAIN

Suffering From Neck Pain?

Neck pain, also known as cervicalgia, is a common problem in all ages, with two-thirds of the population having neck pain at some point in their lives.

The neck is the part of the body that helps to support the weight of the head and move it in all directions. Changes to your posture whether it's leaning over your phone, commonly called the “text neck”, or hunching over your desk can have a huge impact on the neck and it’s related structures and cause the so-called neck pain.

Neck Pain Causes

  • Muscle strains: Overuse, such as too many hours hunched over your laptop or mobile phone, often can trigger muscle strains. Even minor things, such as a bad pillow, reading in bed or grinding your teeth, can strain neck muscles.

  • Bad sleeping habits.

  • Arthritis: Just like all the other joints in your body, your neck joints tend to change with age. Osteoarthritis causes the cushions (disks) between your bones (vertebrae) to deteriorate and affect the joint motion and cause pain.

  • Nerve compression: Herniated disks or arthritis in the vertebrae of your neck can press on the nerves as they pass from the neck towards other parts of the body and cause tingling on the finger tips or arm pain.

  • Injuries: Car accidents often result in whiplash injury, which occurs when the head is forced suddenly backward and then forward, straining the soft tissues of the neck.

  • Other Diseases.
