FIBROMYALGIA

What Is Fibromyalgia?

Fibromyalgia is a disorder characterized by musculoskeletal pain along with fatigue, sleep, concentration problems and mood swings. The exact reason why this happens is unknown, but researchers believe that fibromyalgia causes hypersensitivity, meaning that it amplifies painful sensations (even when they should be non-painful) causing more distress to the individual.

But How Do We Do That?

The chiropractic treatment, such as manipulation to the spine and gentle massage, aims to relax tightened muscles and prevent further loss of movement in the joints, making it possible for you to cope with your everyday life and be more active.
Many patients report that after chiropractic treatment they feel less achy, tense and stiff, which indirectly may make it more likely for them to relax into a more restorative sleep.
